I came, I saw, and conquered... Nothing. But prevailed to move along and salvage my life. I tried my hand at sketching for a long time but had no true talent for it. I thought I had no talent for anything until I rediscovered Photography. Digital Photography Rocks!!!
Interests
Where to begin? So much time has passed since I've done these things and took photographs of, that I'm not sure where to begin. Perhaps this an exercise to order my thoughts and rationalize my actions. Maybe? Maybe not. Either way I'll try to start at the beginning. Thus we begin our journey to the "Land of the Rising Sun" more commonly known as Japan or pronounced in Japanese as "Nippon." I make my Delta Airlines flight with my family from Miami International Airport which connects to Detroit Metropolitan Airport and then finally to Narita International Airport. The planes was uncomfortable(as per standard operation procedure for any airlines unless you feel like paying exorbitant money for first class) but once we landed had to go through customs, blah blah blah, usual boring travel things. The Hotel was cool but pricey but my mother felt like paying up in order to give my brother peace and comfort. Had a decent view of Mt. Fuji but unfortunately most days we were there it was covered in fog or rain, so couldn't take any good photographs of it. "Shame! Ding, Ding!! Shame!"(Game of Thrones reference in case you don't know it but since the show is so mainstream I'm sure most of you do know what scene I'm referring to, eh?) Nor could I go to Mt. Fuji because after having spent most of the week exploring Tokyo my family was feeling quite fatigue after bringing the wrong shoes. It was giving them muscle cramps, blisters, and generally throwing off their walking rhythm. I was better off with my new sneakers I bought before the trip but not by much. I did get to see Nezu Shrine with it's cool Torii paths; one of the oldest shrines in Japan. Got some great photographs, which some have you viewed and a few have fave (No recriminations just observations).
The one thing I didn't photograph was my delicious meal at a Pork Katsu restaurant or Tonkatsu. Strangely enough I was trying to find a Chicken Katsu restaurant and my family made a mistake on their internet searches. I usually can't stand pork because every time my family cooks it for dinner it's always dry, tough, or sometimes just plain greasy. But when I had Pork Katsu in Tokyo is was absolutely perfect! I had never tasted such excellent food before. You know the other great thing about Japan is besides food? I feel tall being 5' 6''(170.688 centimeters). It's weird because in High School I was always considered short compared to 5'9 to 6'2'' teenage pricks. But in Tokyo almost everybody was either my height or shorter. It was a neat experience. I know I'm just another Gaijin tourist and worse American to boot(the whole Atomic Horror of WWII) but it was a wonderful place to visit. It wasn't my first time either, I had been there in October 2006 A.D. Now 10 years later in June 2016 A.D. I still feel like I have barely scratched the surface of all the things to see and explore in Tokyo. Oh well, maybe next time I'll get to go by myself.Meow :3 I think I've fainted. Sweating a little...
I had a 2 day ticket for Sunday/Monday at Florida SuperCon 2016 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. I'm sorry it took so long to submit my photographs as deviation after I was finished with the convention but there was so many to sort through. Some didn't come out well. Some were badly lit. And others I couldn't decide If I wanted to keep them or not. Maybe I'm too picky and just throw everything online but I feel like I should take my time and put up the best quality photographs. Does that make sense? Anyways, Florida SuperCon 2016 was a blast! So many cosplayers and so many celebrities. My only beef was the new security. Ever since the Orlando massacre at the gay night club, Police were on edge. So they felt such a massive public setting like Miami Beach Convention Center they had to make new rules about cosplayers weapon props. Any firearm or firearm lookalike, even with a big red ass dot covering the barrel, gets locked up and given back to cosplayer at the end of the Con. How paranoid can you get?! Thugs self-radicalized not geeks and cosplayers. What did they fear? Black Widow cosplayers were going to go ape shit and start blasting little kids away? Cosplayers Lighting's gun-blade go slice people up and blast away hordes of cops?! I mean WTF! They call me mad, but this was beyond ridiculous. That's why I took that photograph of Miami Beach cops and called them The Best Miami Beach Cosplayers! because they get to keep their guns, tasers, pepper spray, utility belt, etc, etc. They were more dangerous to us then we were to them. CURSE YOU!
But I digress, I had an awesome time. Met so many people including cosplayers, professional cosplayers, and I even got to talk to Robert Duncan McNeil. If I had a photo op pass I could have gotten his photo but it was too much money. Maybe next year. But he was cool to talk to. In case you don't know who I'm talking about he's the actor that played the character Tom Paris on Star Trek: Voyager. Down to earth and a nice guy overall. He answered my questions and I tried not to bother him for too long.Giggle
Funny thing was without realizing it, I did cosplay. By just wearing clean jeans(no holes), socks and sneakers, a black polo shirt and carrying my Nikon Digital Single Lens Reflex D3300, people kept asking me where they can take their photographs with the celebrities. Or cosplayers would ask for my business card or my Facebook address. So I told them I only use DeviantArt.com to display my photographs and how to find their photos of themselves on my profile page. So without realizing it I cosplayed as a semi-professional photographer; how bizarre and cool is that, eh?! :D (Big Grin) La la la la :happybounce:

I've been sort of on a Polling kick. Sorry about that but I either haven't found the time to take photographs or been busy gaming or filling out paper work, etc. etc. I know I shouldn't make excuses but when you've been as depressed for as long as I have, it's hard to get motivated and start moving along with your life.
